Anthony Attan
Anthony Attan is a consultant, coach, and researcher with Focus Leadership, LLC. With a background in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Anthony takes an evidence-based approach to his work that is grounded in research and theory from social science and related fields. He has diverse experience as an organizational consultant including working with managers to achieve sales excellence, coaching leaders tackling a range of real world issues and enhancing the performance of work teams. More recently, Anthony has developed and implemented tools for creating success in virtual teams faced with a unique set of challenges in this new way of working. In addition, he has worked with a variety of charitable organizations, including the Leadership Development Institute of the University of Detroit Mercy, where he helped leaders more effectively pursue their mission.
Over the past 8 years, Anthony has also been engaged in psychological and organizational research in both educational and professional settings. He was a part of a research team at Michigan State University that studied the contagious effects and mechanisms of emotions. He also researched the effects of fluctuating roles on self-assessment. Anthony has lead Focus Leaderships research efforts of the Focus Energy Balance Indicator™ (FEBI®). By utilizing the rigors of psychometric validation techniques, Anthony has been instrumental in the creation of the latest version of the FEBI™ and the creation of a new assessment called the Focus Climate Indicator (FCI™).
Anthony’s work at Focus Leadership continues to expand the practical applications of these personality patterns, helping leaders, teams, and organizations become wholly effective and better balanced. Anthony is a member of the Society of Industrial/Organizational Psychology and the American Society of Training and Development. Anthony has a B.A. in Psychology from Michigan State University, as well as an M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy.
